AI Governance Dungeon

A text adventure in which the monsters are GDPR obligations and the treasure is a lawful basis for processing. It turns out that the fastest way to learn what a data protection impact assessment is for is to be eaten by the absence of one.

The Ledger

A public record of this site's forecasts on AI regulation and enforcement: each one with a stated probability, a resolution date and a named source that settles it. Entries are never edited, and the score is kept with the Brier rule, including the entries this site gets badly wrong. Most governance commentary is free to be wrong. This is the part that is not.

The Agent With a Supervisor

A deliberately boring investment agent, built to test a deliberately interesting question. The agent is rule-based and runs on paper money: a core of index funds, rebalanced and topped up on a fixed schedule, with no model making judgment calls. Around that core sits a small satellite of individual positions, and that is where the experiment lives.

Stock ideas arrive from an outside newsletter. A language model reads them and turns each one into a structured signal: ticker, stated conviction, suggested action. Nothing reaches the agent without a human decision. Every signal is approved, rejected or deferred, and every approval and every rejection is recorded, with the price on the day it was made. A scorecard then follows both groups at one week, one month and three months.

That is the governance question in miniature. Human-in-the-loop review is the default answer to "how do we control an AI system", and it is almost never measured. Does the human add value, or only a signature? Does the source's own confidence label predict anything at all? The scorecard exists to answer that with numbers instead of reassurance. Early results will be published here once the sample is large enough to say something, and not before.
